The Latin American Studies Center offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Latin American Studies and a Minor in Latin American Studies. Students in the major and minor have the opportunity to study different regions and topics within Latin America. Our multidisciplinary program provides a wide range of courses and a large number of potential career opportunities, including jobs in education, business, foreign service, law enforcement, and public health, among others. In addition to its core academic programs, the Center for Latin American Studies partners with leading U.S. universities to offer less-commonly-taught languages of Latin America, including Nahautl, Zapotec, Mixtec, and others. SDSU is the only university in the U.S. offering Mixtec language instruction courses at the degree-level.
